Before OSHA was indoctrinated in the 1970’s, workplace injuries and illnesses were the norm. Large industrial companies were taking advantage of their employees and had virtually no concern for their safety, which made them seem almost dispensable. Finally the U.S. government realized how unethical it was to disregard employee safety, and workplace injuries and illnesses has drastically declined.
